Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker found himself in the middle of a controversy this summer after his commencement speech at Benedictine College.
Butker faced some heavy backlash on social media after his comments regarding how women have been lied to about “finding fulfillment in their jobs” while his wife and others have “enjoyed being married and having children.”
While Butker speech angered many, his support grew and it showed by his jersey sales. In fact, Butker made NFL history has his jersey sales cracked the NFLPA’s Top 50 Player Sales list.

Butker became only the second kicker ever to make the top-50 list. The Bengals’ Evan McPherson was 36th in 2022. But Butker’s jersey was far ahead of that, as it was the 11th-most purchased in the NFL from March 1 to May 31, the NFLPA said.
That was one spot ahead of Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce, who’s popularity went through the roof over the past year since be began dating Taylor Swift.
Butker also kicked the game-winning field goal last Sunday to propel the Chiefs to a 26-25 victory. The Chiefs, 2-0, will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
