Travis Kelce returns to Chiefs practice as girlfriend Taylor Swift plays a huge sold out show in Scotland on the latest stop of her Eras Tour

Travis Kelce returned to practice for the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday – while girlfriend Taylor Swift played a huge show in Scotland as her Eras Tour made its first stop in the United Kingdom.

For Kelce, it was poignant mood around the Chiefs camp after his teammate, BJ Thompson, went into cardiac arrest at a team meeting on Thursday after having a seizure.

Thompson, 25, is said to be awake and responsive now in hospital. The Chiefs canceled Thursday’s practice in the aftermath of the shocking events unfolding.

Kelce, 34, was pictured along with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City on Friday. Next week, the Chiefs will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 11-13 as the Super Bowl champions step up their preparations for the new season.

With his football commitments stepping up again, Kelce has less time to accompany Swift as she tours Europe – with her current run of dates going through to August 20 across the continent.

Friday night was the first of three sold-out shows Swift was playing at Murrayfield in Edinburgh – the 67,000 seater stadium is the home of Scotland’s rugby team.

She then heads to Liverpool, to play at Anfield, the iconic soccer stadium, before stops in Cardiff, London and Dublin.

Kelce could technically head over to Liverpool after the Chiefs minicamp next week, given she plays for another two days after his practice ends. While his current plans to join up with her are unclear, he has said before that he will be all over the world with her during the offseason.

The Chiefs start their NFL season on Thursday, September 5 at Arrowhead Stadium against Baltimore Ravens.

Kelce and his team are bidding to win an historic third straight Super Bowl, following on from their triumph in Las Vegas in February against San Francisco 49ers.

The year before, Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles, who his older brother Jason played for.
