ESPN announcer Troy Aikman inadvertently referred to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as a married couple live on air during the Chiefs’ win on Monday night.
Swift was back at Arrowhead to watch her man beat the New Orleans Saints – after missing both the Chargers and Falcons’ games – and once again the cameras were trained on her in the VIP suite.
Midway through the second quarter, Kelce made a brilliant catch on the field, and when the camera panned to Swift, Aikman found himself in hot water with his comments.
‘The Mrs likes it,’ he told ESPN viewers, before quickly being helped out by his co-analyst Joe Buck, who told him: ‘You know they’re not married?’
‘Oh I know,’ Aikman responded, before adding: ‘I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.’

The incident quickly went viral on social media, and is not the first time that an NFL analyst has found themselves in a similar position.
Last season, Tony Romo twice inadvertently called Swift a ‘wife’, much to the audience’s bemusement.
It first occurred in early December, when Romo spoke over a Kelce play and said: ‘Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience.’
Just two weeks later, it happened again after another Kelce catch when Romo told viewers: ‘And his wife loves it… I mean, girlfriend.’
On the second instance, play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz fired back and joked that he has ‘been down the road with that before’.

On Monday night, Swift hailed the Chiefs’ ‘perfect’ win to take their record to 5-0 as she partied in her VIP suite with other WAGs including Chariah Gordon.
The singer appeared on the Instagram story of Chariah Gordon after the game – the partner of Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman.
Swift appeared to be in Kelce’s suite – there was picture of her performing on her Era’s Tour in the background – and she was asked by Gordon what she thought of the victory.
‘No, it’s important that you answer the question this time,’ Swift said, before Gordon continued: ‘I think that we feel really good about this week, we are 5-0.’

Swift interjected: ‘Going into a bye week’ before agreeing with Gordon saying the win was perfect: ‘Perfect is the word!’
On Tuesday morning, footage emerged online of Kelce and Swift enjoying a PDA-filled moment in the suite, as they kissed and hugged in front of their friends.
The romantic moment goes a long way to ending reports of their relationship coming to an end, in the wake of a leaked ‘contract’ about the pair.
