On Sunday, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a ruptured Achilles in the team’s 14-21 loss to the Bengals, likely ending his season. Browns fans were caught cheering the injury, and Myles Garrett had no problem calling them out.
“Whether it was an opponents player or our own, we don’t boo,” Garrett said. “We should be ashamed of ourselves as Browns, as fans. We need to do better on the football field, as fans for having some empathy for a man who’s doing the best he can.”

Of course, though, the situation is very complicated because of all the off-the-field trouble that Watson has been in, but still cheering for an injury isn’t a good look.
Many On Social Media Don’t Agree With Myles Garrett
Garrett’s statement makes total sense, but a lot of people still don’t agree with him.
“I don’t think anyone would’ve been cheering the injury if he didn’t sexually assault 27 women,” said one comment.
“Maybe if Watson decides to be a better man first, the fans will treat him as such,” said another.
“I respect myles, and think he has to say this in the spirit of sportsmanship, and if it was any other player I’d agree with him,” added a third.
