New England Patriots great Rob Gronkowski is revealing some inside information about the Yankees fans who interfered with Mookie Betts.
Gronkowski has added a new layer to the drama surrounding a New York Yankees fan grabbing the glove of Dodgers’ star Mookie Betts during the World Series on Wednesday that no one could’ve seen coming.
Gronkowski said he used to be friends with the New York fan, who was later identified as Austin Capobianco, when the pair were student-athletes at Arizona.
Rob Gronkowski joined the Up & Adams Show to reveal this fact.
“That guy right there grabbing Mookie Betts’ glove was my friend in college,” Gronkowski said. “He was on the ice hockey team – the club Arizona Wildcats team. The whole hockey team, they were absolute maniacs. They were indescribable (sic) just how wild these guys … animals.
“Him doing that represents him very well. I mean, he is all in for his teams. He is all in for the Yankees. I remember him talking about the Yankees all the time, how he loves them so much. And that describes him perfectly. Just doing whatever it takes to help his team out. He is a beauty.
“I just want to say congratulations for shining when your moment came.”

Rob Gronkowski made it clear he did not condone what the Yankees fan did and called the moment “unacceptable in the world of sports.”
Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, and Gleyber Torres all hit home runs for the Yankees. The Dodgers remain ahead 3-1 in the series with Game 5 at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night.
Rob Gronkowski Knowing The Classless Yankees Fan Might Get The Guy Fifteen More Minutes of Fame
Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski shockingly revealed on Wednesday that he knew one of the New York Yankees fans who got ejected for interfering with Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts’ catch in Game 4 of the World Series.
He pointed to the man who ESPN identified as Austin Capobianco on “Up & Adams.”
With him interfering with the game, he was already set to get his fifteen minutes of fame since the team appeared to wake up and win the game.
Now that Rob Gronkowski has mentioned the Yankees fan and knowing him in college, his fame should extend a few more days, especially if the Yankees continue to come back in the series.
