As of right now, Donald Trump has a sizeable lead over Kamala Harris when it comes to electoral votes.
However, an early lead that he had over Harris has people thinking that a huge upset is in the works.
At one point early on, Donald Trump had 28 electoral votes, and Kamala Harris only had 3.
Put those numbers together, and you have 28-3.
Almost immediately, NFL fans got the reference.

As we all know, the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI on February 5, 2017.
Much like Trump is doing right now, the Falcons dominated the Patriots for most of the game, scoring three touchdowns in the second quarter and leading 21-0.
There were just seventeen minutes of gameplay to go when the Falcons held a 28-3 lead.
The Patriots made things closer when they got the lead down to 28-12 in the fourth quarter. We all saw what happened in that final quarter and overtime.
As of this writing, Donald Trump has an even bigger lead: 101 electoral votes, while Kamala Harris has 71.
Trump has over 18 million total votes, while Harris has 15 million.
