Social media is losing their minds after CFL head official Ben Major botched the coin toss for the 111th Grey Cup between the Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Toronto and Winnipeg are squaring off for the Grey Cup at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. Today’s highly-anticipated affair got off to a hysterical start, with Major committing a blunder on the coin toss.
As the coin was about to be flipped into the air, Major totally realized that he forgot to ask the Argos if they wanted “heads” or tails. His microphone was on, so fans got to catch his hilarious exchange with the Toronto players:
The Argonauts called heads, and Winnipeg won the toss and asked to receive to kick off this year’s Grey Cup.
Social media had a field day poking fun at Major’s blunder:
Hey, at least the Grey Cup coin toss wasn’t as controversial as the Pittsburgh Steelers–Detroit Lions 1999 Thanksgiving fiasco.
