Sunday afternoon’s showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos showed the football gods are looking out for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.
Leading 16-14 late in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs lined up to defend a potential game-winning 35-yard field goal attempt from Broncos kicker Wil Lutz. Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal blocked the kick, keeping the team’s undefeated season alive – and answering his prayer.
“When they’re driving down the field and they cross the 50-yard line, there’s kind of like this heaviness sitting behind your mind,” Chenal said before landing a gift from Travis Kelce. “It takes a prayer. I was literally praying, like, ‘Please, Jesus, we need something here.’ I do feel like my prayer was answered.”
A fan in the stands caught the reaction of Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who was just as stunned as everyone else in the stadium.

Following the win, Kelce and Swift celebrated in one of the suites alongside U.S. tennis star Frances Tiafoe and girlfriend Ayan Broomfield, who posted a photo of the couples.
“Chiefsss,” Broomfield said in her post on social media.
Fans couldn’t get enough.
“I wanna know how this happened!” one person said.
“My worlds just collided in the most insane way possible,” offered another.
“you weren’t kidding when you said I was gonna die,” added another.
“best pic you’ve ever posted,” offered a fourth.
A quick look at Broomfield’s Instagram account shows she generally gets around 1,000-2,000 likes on her posts – sometimes a bit more. However, her post with Swift and Kelce has already racked up nearly 20,000 likes in just one hour.
Football fans can complain about how much the broadcast shows Swift during a game, but people clearly care about what she’s up to.
