Alex Basara, the Green Bay Packers fan whose fiancée was verbally abused by a foul-mouthed Philadelphia Eagles fan on Sunday, is being accused of homophobia.

Basara attended Sunday’s Wild Card playoff game between the two teams at Lincoln Field with his girlfriend Ally Kelly on the day but had to stand by and watch as an older Philly fan harassed and insulted her.

Fortunately, he recorded the incident in a bid to get help identifying the individual, and several developments have unraveled since then.

Eagles head of security “Big Dom” DiSandro has since IDd the perpetrator, who has been banned from attending home games. DiSandro also promised to send Kelly Packers gear as an apologetic gesture.

The fan has also been fired from his job at BCT Partners, where he worked as a DEI consultant, rather ironically.

Alex Basara’s Homophobic Tweets Resurface

Of course, there’s no excuse for this type of behavior, but an Eagles fan has attempted to point out that Alex Basara has been throwing stones while not being sinless.

The user, who goes by the handle @EaglesBurna on X, posted screenshots of some questionable tweets from Basara dating back to 2014 and 2015. “Hey @Basaraski why are you homophobic man,” they captioned the post.

“Homie was probably like 12 or 13 bro give him a break😭,” another user commented.

“Nah if bad behavior matters then it matters for all of us. And dude was 18 when he did that. He’s 31 now,” someone shot back.

Well, we can consider the pot thoroughly stirred.

Let’s see whether Alex responds.
