Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had a surprise comment about the Buffalo Bills ahead of Sunday’s highly-anticipated AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Andy Reid and the defending Super Bowl champions defeated the Houston Texans 23-14 in the Divisional Round to clinch a seventh straight trip to the AFC Championship Game. They’re now just one short of tying the 2011-18 New England Patriots for the most consecutive conference title game appearances.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, coach Reid interestingly stated that he expects his team to be listed as the underdogs against the visiting Bills.

“I presume the Bills will probably be favored, but that’s all right,” Reid said, per Rob Collins of Fox 4 Kansas City. “We do our thing.

The Chiefs are actually a slight favorite over the Bills, with the DraftKings and FanDuel sportsbooks listing them as 1.5-point favorites. Buffalo was a slight 2.5-point favorite against Kansas City in last year’s Divisional Round game at Highmark Stadium, which the visitors won 27-24.

And for what it’s worth, the Bills were small 1.5-point favorites in their Week 11 home win against Kansas City (a 30-21 Buffalo win). So make of Andy Reid’s comments as you will, folks.
