Here is a list of everything Donald Trump has promised to do as soon as he becomes president.
The 78-year-old is going to have a chaotic first day on the job if he plans to achieve all of his ‘Day One’ promises.
He will be sworn-in as president, host a rally, end the war in Ukraine, start mass deportation raids across the country and erase electric car mandates as well as pardoning thousands of people who were convicted after the January 6 Capitol Riot – just to name a few.
He also promised to implement tariffs for transgender athletes in sport.
All this will follow his inauguration, which last minute had to be changed to an indoor ceremony due adverse weather. A dangerous polar vortex is scheduled to head for D.C. as well as larger parts of the country on Monday 20 Jan.
Trump spoke to NBC about his plans to start his mass immigration raid in Chicago as early as Tuesday this week. He said: Well, it’s got to happen, and if it doesn’t happen, we’re not going to have a country any longer,’. His team have not yet made it clear how they would implement this plan.
He also promised to end Russia’s war with Ukraine. During his debate with Vice President Kamala harris, the 78-year-old said: ‘That is a war that’s dying to be settled. I will get it settled before I even become president,’.
He had pledged to pardon January 6 defendants on his first day in the job even suggesting it would be done in ‘maybe the first nine minutes.’
The soon to be president had promised to make tariffs a Day One priority – pledging to put a 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada and ‘ALL products coming into the United States’.
Another Day One pledge was to erase environmental regulations to unleash American energy. He said: ‘The day I take office, I will cancel Crooked Joe’s electric vehicle mandate,’.
