Adorable ice skating couple from Delaware are among youngest child victims of plane crash horror

Two of the youngest victims of the deadly Washington, DC, airplane crash have been identified as an up-and-coming youth ice skating duo.

Youth ice dance partners Angela Yang and Sean Kay were on the fateful flight back from the US Figure Skating Championships and National Development Camp in Wichita, Kansas, with their coach, the Delaware News Journal reported.

Yang and Kay were killed alongside their coach, Alexandr Kirsanov, his wife, confirmed to the local news outlet.

They were members of The University of Delaware Figure Skating Club, according to social media posts from the organization.

‘We have Angela Yang/Sean Kay & Zoe Stone/Jerry Stone heading to Wichita for National Development Camp with Emmanuel Savary competing in the Championship Men event,’ the club said on January 21.

Yang shared several pictures from her time in Wichita just hours before the doomed flight.

‘Had so so much fun at camp!!! I’m really gonna miss my friends and all the great coaches! I can’t wait for next year!’ she said.

‘It was a lot of fun watching all the skaters at Kansas! I had a lot of fun sitting with my friends watching amazing skaters! I wish I could watch it all over again!’

US Figure Skating confirmed that several skaters, coaches and their family members were on board the flight, and had been returning home from the National Development Camp, which is held in conjunction with the national championships.

‘We are devastated by this unspeakable tragedy and hold the victims’ families closely in our hearts. We will continue to monitor the situation and will release more information as it becomes available,’ the sport governing body said in a statement.

Two teenage figure skaters, their mothers, and two former world champions who were coaching at a historic Boston club were among the 14 members of the skating community killed.

Skating Club of Boston CEO Doug Zeghibe said Thursday that skaters Jinna Han and Spencer Lane were among those killed, along with 1994 pairs world champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov of Russia.

Lane, 16, was a sectionals champion who had become popular among the skating community on social media, where he has thousands of TikTok followers. On Wednesday, he posted a video showing him doing a triple toe loop to wrap up the development camp.

‘I am so happy to have qualified for national development camp,’ Lane said in an Instagram post Wednesday.

‘It has been my goal almost ever since I became aware that it was a thing. I learned so much new information that I can apply to my everyday life, and met so many amazing people.’

He later posted a photo of him aboard the plane just before it departed from Wichita.

Sixty passengers and four crew members on the American Airlines plane and three soldiers aboard a training flight on the Blackhawk helicopter are presumed dead after the collision.

There was no immediate cause identified, but officials said flight conditions were clear as the jet coming from Wichita was making a routine landing when the helicopter flew into its path.
