NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell touched base on several topics to kick off Super Bowl week on Monday, including the possibility of creating another professional football league.

Roger Goodell answered a series of questions from reporters in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Super Bowl week underway. The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, a rematch of their thrilling SB 57 clash two years earlier.

Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Goodell announced that the NFL is exploring the possibility of creating a professional flag football league, or separate men’s and women’s flag football leagues.

“We have a lot of international players who would like to represent their country,” Roger Goodell said, per Smith.

With the old Pro Bowl game format becoming stale and unwatchable for some fans, the league changed it to a non-contact flag football game. The third edition of that format took place on Sunday, with Eli Manning and the NFC beating Peyton Manning’s AFC squad.
