BREAKING: Former Buffalo Bills Head Coach Has Tragically Passed Away

Former NFL player and head coach Dick Jauron has reportedly passed away.

Jauron, who played as a safety, made several stops around the league as an assistant and head coach during his tenure.

According to NBC Sports, he died on Saturday morning after a short battle with cancer. Jauron was 74 years old.

The Peoria, Illinois native played for the Detroit Lions from 1973 to 1977 and for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1978 to 1980. He was the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1999 to 2003, leading the team to a 13-3 record in 2001 to earn himself Coach of the Year honors.

He went 35-45 as Bears HC.

The Lions appointed him as a defensive coordinator after he left Chicago. He would take on the role of interim head coach for five games in 2005. They went 1-4 with him as head coach.
