Air India has blacked out its social media profile following Thursday’s massive tragedy.

One of the company’s commercial jets bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, going down in a populated area before hitting its intended altitude and causing extensive loss of life.

The flight was carrying 242 passengers and crew members. Over 200 people are reported to have died, with rescue efforts still underway.

Air India has confirmed that there were 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, one Portuguese, and one Canadian on board. One British survivor claims he was able to save himself by jumping out of the plane.

The company has since blacked out its X page, changing both the header and profile photo to plain black photos.

This was most likely done to portray mourning, as times are indeed dark for the families of the victims and the country at large.

Other airlines have made similar changes after past tragic incidents

Meanwhile, Indian police have released a list of people said to be “injured” in the crash, with several locals having lost their lives on the ground too.

United States President Donald Trump has also pledged the country’s full support to the relief efforts.
