LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka had quite the meltdown after hitting a horrendous tee shot during round one of the LIV Golf Dallas tournament on Friday.

The LIV Golf Dallas 2025 event is being held at the luxurious Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, the same venue that hosted last year’s LIV Golf Dallas event. Carrollton is approximately 20 miles north of Dallas.

One of the biggest names on LIV Golf, Brooks Koepka’s opening round couldn’t have gone any worse. The five-time major winner wound up withdrawing on Friday because of an illness, and one short clip summarizes his day on the greens.

Koepka stepped up to the tee box on the ninth hole and hit an erratic drive far left. He knew right off the bat that it was a bad shot, smashing the driver’s head to the ground before slamming away the tee box in disgust.

Every golfer (regardless of their skill level) has endured multiple frustrating rounds on the greens in their lives. So let Brooks Koepka’s meltdown here remind you that even the pros have their off days, and not to be hard on yourself when you’re struggling out there.

Former PGA Golf star Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III are in a tie for first at five-under, with Jon Rahm just behind at four-under. Abraham Ancer is in fourth at three-under, with five others tied for fifth at two-under.

The 35-year-old Koepka joined LIV Golf in June 2022, signing a lucrative deal reportedly worth over $100 million. Koepka’s deal expires after the 2026 season, so it remains to be seen if he stays on the tour beyond next year.
