NFL legend, podcast phenomenon and now Jason Kelce might just be an accidental style icon as he enjoys the Paris Olympics.
Already named as one of PEOPLE magazine’s sexiest men alive in 2003, it’s perhaps no surprise he’s taking the fashion capital of the world by storm.
But while many in Paris will have had bespoke outfits and icon labels hand out the most stylish clubber, Kelce’s fantastic fit was more by luck than judgement.
Wowing fans with a sleek blue beret as he took in the field hockey with wife Kylie, Jason had to admit it wasn’t an intentional statement.
One supporter said: “Of course Jason Kelce can pull off a beret!”
While another added: “Jason and Kylie Kelce in Paris, supporting the US Field Hockey team, whilst Jason sports a meannnnn beret is EXACTLY the kinda good clean fun I wanted to see today.
“Couple of absolute gems.”
He told The Hockey Paper: “We’re in France, in Paris, and I love assimilating to different cultures and whatnot. I know this is about as stereotypical as you can get… I’ve already had a bunch of croissants and baguettes too, I just didn’t carry them with me to the game.
“I’m definitely taking in the full experience. And it was raining, I needed something to cover my head. I bought it at a souvenir shop.”
The Kelces watched an inexperienced Team USA lose 4-1 to Argentina in the women’s Pool B clash.
And Jason was impressed by his nation – but one rival really caught his eyes.
“They played hard, they’re a young team, and they played arguably the best team in the world,” Jason commented. “They had their moments. They played them hard. And the score, in my opinion, doesn’t reflect how close it was for a lot of it.
“Argentina just did a really good job of capitalising their opportunities. And their goalie, I mean, oh my gosh, diving and saving all over the place.It was a fun game to watch, and I’m proud of the girls.”
And Kelce stated he believes the sport is growing in the US, particularly in the State he lives, despite them missing out on the Tokyo games three years ago.
He said: “I’m probably biased because I live in Pennsylvania, and there’s so many girls from the Pennsylvania area on this team, so we’re getting a lot of that publicity fed to us.
“The sport has been really popular over the last year. Field hockey in general feels like it’s having a moment in the United States.
“They are a really young team, and this team has got a lot of energy, so I think if they just keep doing what they’re doing, playing hard, I think that everyone at home will be proud of them.”
The Kelces may well be seen again across the games – and we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Jason’s outfit.
