The Kansas City Chiefs are now aware of how many games Rashee Rice will get after his hit-and-run accident.

Rice will spend time behind bars after pleading guilty to two felony charges related to a high-speed hit-and-run crash that injured at least four people on a Dallas highway last year.

On July 17, the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days of jail time for his role in a multi-car crash in Dallas during the 2024 offseason. Rice was sentenced to deferred probation as a result of the plea deal, meaning that his case will be dismissed if he successfully completes probation.

Rice was initially charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury.

Earlier this month, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Rice’s disciplinary hearing with the NFL isn’t expected to take place until Sept. 30. He stated that the league first wanted to sit Rashee Rice out for eight games, not the 10+ that some originally speculated.

He further noted that the Collective Bargaining Agreement states that bans do not exceed six games in cases like Rashee Rice’s. This sets a precedent for negotiations between the league and the union.

Now, we know how many games he’ll miss as a result of his off-field incident.

Rashee Rice Accepts 6-Game Suspension From NFL

The NFL has reportedly handed Rashee Rice a six-game suspension, and sources indicate that the Kansas City Chiefs superstar has no intention to appeal the decision.

Rice and the NFL were scheduled for a Sept. 30 disciplinary hearing, reportedly to discuss a potential 6-to-8-week suspension, but it instead appears as though all parties have come to an agreement and the punishment will begin at the start of the season.

As a result, Rice will miss games against the Chargers, Eagles, Giants, Ravens, Jaguars, and Lions.

The 25-year-old Rashee Rice is entering his third NFL season after the Chiefs took him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Rice missed 13 games last season due to a knee injury. He totaled 938 yards and seven scores on 79 catches as a rookie.
