Dallas Cowboys 5-Time Pro Bowl Legend Tragically Dies

Five-time Pro Bowler Lee Roy Jordan, who spent his entire 14-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, has passed away at the age of 84.

On Saturday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys announced Lee Roy Jordan’s passing in an X/Twitter post. A standout linebacker out of Alabama, Jordan helped Dallas to a Super Bowl 6 championship in the 1971 season as a member of their “Doomsday Defense.”

Jordan was drafted sixth overall by the Dallas Cowboys in 1963. The Boston Patriots also selected him in round one (14th overall) in the ’63 AFL Draft, but he decided to play for Dallas and never looked back.

Over his 14 seasons, Jordan recorded 32 interceptions, 19.5 sacks and 18 fumble recoveries. He was named to the Pro Bowl in in 1967, 1968, 1969, 1973 and 1974. He was placed in the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor in 1989.
