Aaron Rodgers showed out against his former team, the New York Jets, on Sunday, helping the Pittsburgh Steelers beat them 34-32 in a Week 1 thriller.

Rodgers, who was released from the Jets earlier this year after two seasons in East Rutherford, threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-30 passing in a contest that went down to the wire and was only sealed by a monster tackle from Jalen Ramsey.

The veteran QB didn’t care how the win came; he was just happy to beat the Jets and everyone associated with them, which is exactly what he said to reporters after the game.

Asked whether there was any significance in beating the new Jets head coach, Aaron Glenn, Rodgers replied, “I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets.”

Rodgers has had it in for Glenn since that final meeting with the Jets in which he flew across the country on his own pocket for a sitdown that lasted less than 15 minutes.

Speaking after the meeting, Rodgers said Glenn asked him, “Are you sure you want to play football?”

According to Rodgers, Glenn then told him, “We’re going in a different direction at quarterback,” and left the room.
