Lee Greenwood, the artist touted to replace Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show performer, has shared his thoughts on the possibility.

Bad Bunny could go down as the most controversial choice for the halftime show in NFL history, and he hardly did himself any favors with his actions at a recent Yankees game. Fans have launched a petition to get him banned, which is picking up steam, but there has been no official announcement regarding a change.n

Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson has called for the aforementioned country singer to replace the Puerto Rican, claiming he would be a better choice.

Greenwood has since told TMZ Sports that he would love the opportunity to perform in front of the largest audience in the country, but suggested that he could get fans hyped before the game instead, given that Bad Bunny has already been confirmed.

Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez, has been accused of hating America by people around President Donald Trump, who has lashed out at the decision himself.

The government has also confirmed that ICE agents will be at the Super Bowl following comments from the artist, who claimed he was unwilling to perform in the U.S. for fear that immigrants would become easy targets at his shows.

House Speaker Wants Lee Greenwood

Speaking on Tuesday, Johnson declared that it was a “terrible decision” to have the 31-year-old perform in February.

“I didn’t even know who Bad Bunny was. But it sounds like a terrible decision in my view from what I’m hearing,” he said.

“It sounds like he’s not someone who appeals to a broader audience and there are so many eyes on the Super Bowl – a lot of young, impressionable children,” Johnson added. “And, in my view, you would have Lee Greenwood or Role Models doing that. Not somebody like this.”

Greenwood, who appeared on Stage with Trump at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service last month, has sung the national anthem or ‘God Bless the USA’ at football stadiums across America.

He is scheduled to perform at a halftime show between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals early next month.

As for Bad Bunny, he had a message for the folks who want him banned during a recent appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
