The Seneca Golf Course in Louisville, Kentucky, was the scene of an expected landing earlier this week, so to speak.

An airplane would come to a stop on the course’s 17th hole after skidding off the runway at Bowman Field, breaking the airport fence to end up around 370 feet beyond the end of the runway.

According to Natalie Chaudoin, a spokesperson for the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, the Cessna 525B business jet landed on Runway 33 around 10:35 AM on October 7.

It overran the runway, continuing for the aforementioned distance before finally stopping on the course’s 17th hole just off Pee Wee Reese Road.

As strange as this is, it’s hardly the first incident of its kind in 2025. Two individuals were fortunate to escape with their lives after an airplane went through an emergency crash landing on a course in Australia back in August.

No One Was Harmed In Seneca Golf Course Incident

Tuesday’s events did not result in any casualties either. First responders from the Louisville Regional Airport Authority Public Safety Department, Metro Police, Fire Department, and Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after.

The four people on board, two pilots and two passengers, were unharmed.

Chaudoin also revealed that Runways 15/33 were temporarily closed after the landing. Runways 6/24 remained open.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the plane to run off, but an investigation has been opened.

U.S. Department of Transportation records note that the Cessna 525B is registered to Starlite Aviation LLC from North Carolina.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are expected to carry out a full review.
