JuJu Smith-Schuster may have sustained a broken nose after getting hit in the face by Brian Branch following the Chiefs’ win over the Lions on Sunday night.
The wide receiver took an unexpected blow after approaching Branch in the wake of the 30-17 result, sparking a wild melee on the field.
Patrick Mahomes had just offered Branch his hand, which the safety ignored, and tapped him on the shoulder after walking past him. JuJu appears to have said something before sticking his own hand out – Branch immediately shoved him in the face, forcing him to drop to one knee.
Smith-Schuster retaliated, trying to get at Branch while Mahomes pulled the Lions DB away; then everyone got involved, and Mahomes ended up at the bottom of a pile.

Another clip shows JuJu Smith-Schuster walking to the Chiefs’ locker room with a towel over his nose, leading folks on social media to believe it may have been broken.
The NFL is expected to come down hard on Branch for this.
While his frustration was certainly understandable following the loss, he definitely crossed the line.
