Worst Beat In Gambling History – Brutally Unlucky Bettor Comes 1 Yard Short Of Turning $15 Into $1,000,000

Cade Otton almost made one NFL fan quit his job forever.

Every week, there are numerous people who place bets on sports, hoping to cash in and make some huge money.

While some fans seem to have all the luck, others tend to lose their money quite often. Oftentimes, it comes in heartbreaking fashion.

We just saw an example of that last month when the Baltimore Ravens were leading the Buffalo Bills 40-25 during the fourth quarter of their Week 1 game before the Bills mounted an improbable comeback to win 41-40 on a field goal as time expired.

An Instagram user had a major parlay that involved 15 legs, which he put $25 on. One Ravens’ victory would have landed him more than $57,000 in winnings.

Unfortunately, there is another guy with an even worse bad beat, and Cade Otton is to blame.

Cade Otton Fails To Score To Help Bettor

On Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton finally looked to get into the end zone, where he had failed to do so all season long.

Otton had four catches for 40 yards on what was “National Tight Ends Day,” per ESPN’s box score.

One fan just knew this was the game Otton would finally score. So, the guy put $15.46 on a 16-leg same-game parlay. The first 15 things happened, including Cam Skattebo scoring a touchdown, which he did before he shattered his ankle on the field.

One moment from that Saints-Bucs game showed that Cade Otton was one measly yard away from scoring. A screenshot shows him stretching out to score a touchdown, but his elbow touched the field, and he was down by contact.

Had he scored, the bettor would’ve had $999,699.97 coming to him.

Better luck next time, I guess.
