BREAKING: Trevon Diggs Lands With Top NFC Team After Shocking Release From Cowboys

Trevon Diggs didn’t have to wait long to find a new home.

Trevon Diggs has landed with a bonafide Super Bowl contender, one day after he was unexpectedly waived by the Dallas Cowboys.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Packers have claimed Trevon Diggs off waivers from the Cowboys. The 9-6-1 Packers have already clinched the NFC’s No. 7 seed and will face either the Chicago Bears or Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round.

Fellow Packer and ex-Cowboys star Micah Parsons quickly shared his excitement on X:

The banged-up Packers lost Micah Parsons for the season when he tore his ACL when he tore his ACL in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos. Now, they’ll see if Trevon Diggs can provide a boost on defense.

Now, Diggs is on his way to Green Bay to pursue a Super Bowl.

After the Cowboys waived Diggs, news broke that he had a disagreement with head coach Brian Schottenheimer over Christmas Day plans. Diggs reportedly asked for permission to spend more time in Maryland with his family after they beat the Washington Commanders on Christmas.

Schottenheimer declined his request, but Diggs decided to stay in Maryland anyway. The Cowboys, in the final week of another disappointing season, determined they didn’t need Diggs any longer.

A change of scenery can only benefit Trevon Diggs, too. According to Next Gen Stats, he allowed a 156.3 passer rating in coverage in eight games. To put that in perspective, a perfect passer rating is 158.3.
