Authorities Issue Update As Tommy Lee Jones’ Daughter Found Dead In Hotel

Authorities have issued an update following the sudden death of Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter.

Victoria Jones, 34, was found lying on the ground on the 14th floor of the Fairmont San Francisco in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

A hotel guest reportedly raised concerns, believing she may have been intoxicated.

Hotel staff rushed to the scene and quickly realized she was unresponsive.

Employees immediately began CPR while emergency services were called.

Paramedics arrived shortly before 3 a.m., but Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Francisco Police Department officers and the Medical Examiner’s Office later took over the investigation.

Victoria was the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley.

Tommy Lee Jones has carved out one of Hollywood’s most respected careers, earning a reputation for playing tough, authoritative characters with quiet intensity.

He first gained major attention in the late 1970s and early 1980s, starring in acclaimed projects such as Coal Miner’s Daughter (1980), where he portrayed Loretta Lynn’s husband, and The Executioner’s Song (1982), a performance that earned him an Emmy Award.

The 1990s cemented his status as a leading man.

Jones won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as US Marshal Samuel Gerard in The Fugitive (1993). The part became one of the most recognizable performances of his career.

Following that success, he appeared in a string of blockbuster films including Natural Born KillersBatman ForeverMen in Black, and U.S. Marshals.

In more recent years, Jones took on roles in films such as No Country for Old MenIn the Valley of Elah and Lincoln.

He also stepped behind the camera, directing projects including The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which received major recognition at the Cannes Film Festival.

Jones has been married three times. His first marriage, to Kate Lardner, lasted from 1971 to 1978.

He later wed Kimberlea Cloughley in 1981. The couple welcomed two children during their marriage before divorcing in 1996.

Their son, Austin Leonard Jones, born in 1982, has worked as an actor and musician and collaborated with his father on the film The Homesman.

Their daughter Victoria was born in 1991.

Jones has been married to his current wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, since 2001.

Laurel, a former photographer and camera operator, worked on films including Men in Black II and RoboCop 2.

The couple met while working on the TV movie The Good Old Boys in the mid-1990s. They do not share children.

Victoria followed in her father’s footsteps at a young age, making her big-screen debut in Men in Black II in 2002.

She later appeared on the hit teen drama One Tree Hill in 2003 and had a small role in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada in 2005.

In an interview with The New Yorker, Jones once spoke proudly of his daughter’s talent, saying she was a skilled actress who spoke fluent Spanish, a language she learned from her nurse as a baby.

He also shared a lighthearted story from the set of The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, revealing he briefly fired Victoria after she refused to get out of bed for an early call time. Crew members later stepped in and got her to set without telling him.

After her early acting roles, Victoria appeared to step away from Hollywood, though she occasionally attended red carpet events with her father.

She joined him at the premiere of Just Getting Started in 2017.

Victoria Jones had faced legal issues in the year prior to her death, though authorities have not indicated any connection between those incidents and the circumstances surrounding her passing.

According to the New York Post, Jones was arrested on at least three occasions over the past year.

Court records cited by the outlet show she was taken into custody in Napa County in April on suspicion of obstructing a police officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing a narcotic.

She was reportedly arrested again in Santa Cruz County in May.

In June, she was taken into custody once more in Napa County on allegations of domestic battery and domestic violence/elder abuse, before later being released on bail.

The Post reports that Jones entered not-guilty pleas in both Napa County cases, citing court documents.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department told TMZ that, at around 3.14 a.m., their officers responded to a report of a dead female.

At the scene, they met with paramedics, who declared the the casualty deceased.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death.

According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, investigators found no signs of physical trauma, drug paraphernalia, or foul play at the scene. There were also no indications she had taken her own life.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Victoria was staying at the hotel or how she ended up on the 14th floor.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
