DeAngelo Miles, a captain on his team, was shot and killed at age 17. Miles was killed in a shooting on the South Side of Chicago. A 15-year-old football player named Kaleb Hil passed away just a day after his junior varsity physical. He showed signs of dehydration while practicing and collapsed at home.
Brian Moss’ death is tragic
The family of Brian Moss has been left heartbroken into the new year after losing their son. Moss was a freshman player with the Viera High football team. He had just been named the Varsity Specialty Player of the Year.
Hawks Coach Tony Gulla said that the teen’s death will resonate with the student body and administrators. “This is a tough loss. He was a great kid and an excellent student,” Gulla said.
The football star was driving home from an event in DeLand, Florida, with his family when tragedy struck. What makes matters worse is that his young football career was set to excel.
Coach Gulla said Moss was set to become the team’s starting cornerback next year after a standout season. The coach had his team do 34 pushups to commemorate Moss’s jersey number.
