Chinese Snowboarder Liu Jiayu Stretchered Off After Horrific Halfpipe Crash Left Her Motionless On The Snow [VIDEO]

Snowboarder Liu Jiayu needs all of the prayers right now after her horrific fall in the women’s halfpipe qualifiers at the Winter Olympics. The sickening incident occurred at the end of her second run at the Livigno Snow Park in Valtellina.

Liu of China took a brutal fall on the final hit of her second qualifying run, which paused the competition for several minutes. She was in 13th and needed to move up one spot to qualify for finals. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when she caught an edge on her final jump.

Liu crashed hard on her left arm and shoulder, bending backward and somersaulting through the bottom of the pipe. The accident appeared to knock her out cold as she awaited medical personnel.

Her injury comes days after Lindsey Vonn crashed and had to be airlifted to a hospital.

Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu took a scary fall in Olympic halfpipe qualifying on Wednesday. It would result in her being carried off on a stretcher. Emergency medical personnel immediately surrounded Liu, and it took roughly 15 minutes before they could load her onto a sled.

There was no immediate word from the Chinese team on Liu’s status. According to Xinhua Sports, medical staff said it’s “unlikely” Liu suffered a spine injury.

Liu – who took home silver at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang – finished 14th in qualifying after scoring 62.75 on her first run.

She would miss out on a spot in the final, with only the top 12 making it through to the event on Thursday.

Team USA star Chloe Kim topped the qualifying charts on Wednesday morning with a huge score of 90.25.
