Sisters goes viral after Jutta’s gold win.
Jutta Leerdam is owning the Winter Olympics. Now her sisters share a piece of it. The Dutch speed skater won a gold medal on Sunday, which made her family very emotional.
Leerdam broke the Olympic record in the 1000 meters. She finished the race in 1 minute and 12.31 seconds. She beat her teammate, Femke Kok, by a very small margin. Kok had briefly held the record before Leerdam completed her race.
This win gave Leerdam her first Olympic gold medal. After the race, cameras showed her fiance, Jake Paul, celebrating, he himself posted it on Instagram. The couple made their relationship public in 2023. The social media star became emotional, cried, and hugged her to celebrate the win.
Sisters Join The Celebration
Merel Leerdam and Beaudine Leerdam also celebrated their own way after the race. The two sisters posted a joyful video online to congratulate. Fans immediately noticed the strong family bonding.
The sisters wrote a heartfelt message with the clip. “NO WORDS. Our sister is a Olympic champion!!!” the post read. The video showed big smiles, hugs, and pure excitement.
Jutta continued celebrating in the days after her win. She posted a fun video of herself dancing with her gold medal, also enjoying a diva moment while laughing with Jake Paul. And she also playfully bit the medal like many champions do.
The Leerdam family stayed very close during the Olympics. Both sisters even flew with Jutta on a private jet before the Games. A video showed them laughing and enjoying time together.
Not everything around Jutta felt peaceful. She faced criticism for skipping the Olympic Opening Ceremony and posting a photo from bed. Some fans also criticized her private jet trip, while others supported her.
Despite the noise, Jutta stayed focused on her performance. She delivered the best race of her career and won gold. Jake Paul supported her throughout the celebration and called it one of the proudest moments of his life.
Jutta will race again on February 15 in the 500 meters.
