Travis Kelce is glad to never see these people again.
Travis Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, was once close to actress Blake Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds. Things have changed over the past year.
Lively was even seen at a few Kansas City Chiefs games with Swift, but she would soon limit how many times they were seen out together. One year ago, she was forced to take a step back from the friendship due to the latter’s ongoing lawsuit. She would even go so far as to remove Lively from her Super Bowl guest list.
Almost a year later, we started to find out why Taylor was trying to distance herself. Unsealed court documents related to Blake Lively’s legal battle against Justin Baldoni exposed Taylor Swift’s involvement, per TMZ.
Baldoni claimed his co-star used Swift to intimidate him at a meeting with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. In his $400 million lawsuit, Baldoni said Taylor Swift showed up and made him feel like he ‘needed to comply with Blake’s direction for the script.’
Texts from Swift suggest she and Blake mocked Baldoni while calling him names. Travis Kelce ended up catching the brunt of that frustration as fans ripped him on Instagram. Not because he did something, but because Swift doesn’t allow comments on her Instagram page.
It turns out creating distance from them was right up Travis Kelce’s alley.
Travis Kelce Isn’t A Fan of Ryan Reynolds
According to Rob Shuter’s Substack, Kelce never clicked with Reynolds. He only tolerated Reynolds for Swift’s sake and felt uneasy around Reynolds, and he felt like the actor was always on.
A source told Shuter, “Travis just doesn’t trust him.” He thinks Ryan’s always “on” — and that rubs him the wrong way.” The Chiefs’ tight end also reportedly did not enjoy the double dates he and Taylor Swift went to with Reynolds and Blake Lively.
“He hated the double-dating. He felt like it was all optics and no authenticity,” the source said. They also added, “Travis is blunt and real. Ryan is curated. That contrast never worked.”
Now, Kelce can breathe because of Lively’s recent legal troubles, which have kept them from being close.
