Shannon Sharpe revealed the truth behind his streaming sex video that went live on Instagram earlier Wednesday where he and a woman could be heard making intimate noises for around a minute.
Sharpe came clean that he was not hacked nor was the video a prank. The longtime NFL tight end confirmed he was having sex during the video.
The sports commentator said he accidentally pushed the buttons to go live without being technologically sound.
Sharpe also admitted he did not stop the live stream. Someone from his team did.
‘I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons. People count on Shannon to be professional, even when I’m behind closed doors,’ Sharpe said as part of a special edition of ‘Nightcap’ with Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.

‘I’m very disappointed in myself, not for the act. There are millions and billions of people of consenting age who participate in activities.’
Sharpe said the aftermath of his Instagram Live made him cry.
Oddly enough, the second advertisement before the beginning of the special edition of ‘Nightcap’ was Sharpe’s endorsement of Ro Sparks, a pill that says it is a ‘a long-lasting treatment in a new sublingual form to reach your bloodstream faster so you can be more spontaneous’
Sharpe said for every time he has intimate moments in the future, he will leave his phone in the car.
The former Denver Bronco also mentioned an interest in going back to using a flip phone.
Johnson said he had ’73 missed calls’ with people trying to get in contact with him over the sex live stream.
‘Y’all love making fun of my situation,’ Sharpe said.
The woman can be heard moaning throughout the video, while she at other points appears to say the name Shannon. Sharpe declined to identify the woman during the live stream.
Nonetheless, the camera was pointed at the ground for the majority of the clip – and the ex-NFL star said earlier Wednesday that he was hacked.
‘Beware my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working vigorously to figure this out — UNC,’ Sharpe posted on his Instagram story before deleting his message.
A screen recording of the Instagram Live shows that more than 6,500 people were simultaneously tuned into the video at one point.
Sharpe said he received a rare FaceTime from Deion Sanders to discuss what went wrong from his live stream.
One of Sharpe’s fans poked fun at him in his live stream and said ‘Happy Hump Day Unc!’
Sharpe has already released sex-themed merchandise from Wednesday’s mishap.
