Louisiana-Monroe Coach Got Into Physical Altercation With Lineman During Game

Football is an emotional game and sometimes in the heat of an intense moment, tempers can flare. But a Louisiana-Monroe assistant coach took things too far during Saturday’s game against Marshall.

First-year ULM offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship went berserk on sophomore offensive guard Drew Hutchinson. Blankenship chased Hutchinson off the field and shoved him in the chest multiple times. Players had other step in and separate the coach from Hutchinson.

Blankenship is in his first season as ULM’s offensive line coach after holding the same position with the New Mexico Lobos in 2023. Before that, he spent seven seasons as an assistant for UAB — serving as assistant strength coach from 2016-21 and offensive line coach in 2022.
