The Week 14 Monday Night Football matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys was a very appealing game when the schedule was released last spring before the season kicked off. It was sold as a late-season prime time matchup between two star quarterbacks on teams expected to be in playoff contention.
Unfortunately, the game will be everything but that as the Cowboys and Bengals both have losing records and the Cowboys will be without their star quarterback – Dak Prescott – who’s out of the season.
What makes it worse is while the NFL has the ability to flex games out of primetime, they won’t be able to flex this particular game for a hilarious reason: The Simpsons
ESPN and Disney have been planning a Simpsons alternate cast for the December 9 Monday Night Football game and apparently it is standing in the way of the game being replaced.
For those asking, the Bengals-Cowboys MNF game is not eligible to be flexed out because of all the drawings, voiceovers and other work that has been done for The Simpsons alt-cast that will air that night.
