The general manager of a struggling and quarterback-needy NFC team was seen scouting Shedeur Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes during a recent team practice.

Shedeur Sanders is the consensus top quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, a class that is considered relatively weak for the game’s most important position. Sanders and teammate Travis Hunter both have realistic shots of being top-two picks in April.

Roughly one-quarter of the league’s 32 teams will surely have a new Week 1 starter next year, so it’s tough to project where exactly Sanders might land in the draft. But it appears that one NFC team, in desperate need of a new quarterback for 2025, is doing some early homework on the 22-year-old.

Deion Sanders. Jr filmed a video of New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen at the Buffaloes’ practice. The third-year GM can be seen having a conversation with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders:

Is Schoen just there for a casual scouting day? Might he be scouting Shedeur Sanders AND Travis Hunter? Interpret it however you wish, but the timing of this is interesting considering that the Giants released Daniel Jones last week.

New York started third-stringer Tommy DeVito over backup Drew Lock in Sunday’s ugly home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the Giants likely to finish with a top-three pick, there’s a good possibility that they end up drafting Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders Is Wrapping Up A Monster 2024 Season

Proving last season was no fluke, Sanders is having an excellent 2024 season with the Buffaloes. He’s thrown for 3,488 yards and 30 touchdowns against just seven interceptions to go along with four rushing touchdowns.

The Buffaloes’ 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks all but ended any chance of potentially qualifying for the 12-team postseason. They’ll wrap up the regular season on Friday against the Oklahoma State Cowboys at home, with a bowl game pending.
