After the Las Vegas Raiders fired head coach Antonio Pierce after one season, it was reported that minority owner Tom Brady would have heavy influence in who the Raiders hired as their next coach.
And we now know who Brady’s first target was. His former head coach Bill Belichick.
According to Mark Daniels of MassLive.com, Brady reached out to Belichick, who became the head coach at University of North Carolina last month, about potentially coaching the Raiders.
Brady and the Raiders aren’t the only ones to reach out to the legendary coach. Multiple NFL teams have reached out to the 72-year-old to gauge his interest despite just becoming the head coach for the Tar Heels.
Despite the interest (even from Tom Brady), Belichick will reportedly stay loyal to North Carolina and will coach there in 2025 but the door remains open for Belichick to potentially return to the NFL after next season.
