Cam Ward’s father, Calvin, couldn’t hold in his frustrations with his son’s wide receivers in Sunday’s road loss to the Denver Broncos.
The No. 1 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft had a tough outing against one of the league’s premier defenses, completing just 12 of 28 pass attempts for no touchdowns and six sacks. Of course, it didn’t help that Cam Ward’s receivers dropped several key passes in the second half.
Calvin Ridley, the Titans’ No. 1 receiver, especially had a forgettable day on offense with only four catches for 27 yards. Pro Football Focus also credited Ridley with three drops on the day.
Eventually. Mr. Ward couldn’t contain his unhappiness with the lack of help his son was getting from the wide receivers:
They say you win and lose as a team in professional sports, but the game could have been different if Cam Ward’s pass-catchers held onto the ball. Instead, they wasted a strong effort by the defense against a potent Bo Nix-led offense.
Things don’t get much easier for the Titans, who play host to Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday (1:00 p.m. EST).
