Former WWE tag team champion Bobby Horne, who wrestled under the ring name Sir Mo, has passed away following a lengthy health battle.
Horne had been hospitalized for the last few months with an illness.
A report from TMZ Sports notes that the former wrestler died at a hospital in Texas on Sunday evening, with his brother, Gerald Horne, confirming as much.
He was 58.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Bobby Horne, known to wrestling fans around the world as Sir Mo of Men on a Mission, has passed away,” pro wrestling booking company Book Pro Wrestlers wrote.
“Bobby…made his mark in the wrestling world with his infectious energy, booming personality, and unmistakable charisma,” they added.
His passing follows that of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, who died from a heart attack in July.
Bobby Horne, A.K.A. Sir Mo, Endured Multiple Health Complications
Horne began wrestling in 1991, joining WWE (then WWF) in 1993, where he worked until 1996.
He became a tag team champion alongside Mabel in 1994 and would spend the rest of his career on the indie circuit after leaving the promotion, winning multiple tag team championships around the country.
He dealt with a number of health issues in his final years, often sharing updates via social media.
“My colon hasn’t worked in three years,” he said back in July after revealing that he had undergone “major intestinal surgery.”
Earlier this month, a fundraiser was organized to help him and his wife, Denise Jones, pay his medical bills after contracting a blood infection and pneumonia.
The former tag champ also had a kidney transplant in 2018 and got a severe case of COVID-19 in 2022 that sent him to the ICU. He later had surgery for a hernia.
Current pro wrestler Ryzin worked with Horne over the last few years at SOAR Wrestling Worldwide in Dallas and said the ex-WWE star was “fighting for his life” in a social media post.
TPS extends condolences to Horne’s family, friends, and loved ones.
May he rest in peace.
