Pop star Taylor Swift, who also happens to be the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was not present when the reigning Super Bowl champions made their White House visit Friday. Sure enough, though, Swift has a good reason for that.
While Swift’s attendance was never a guarantee since she’s currently on tour, many actually hoped that she would make an appearance in the nation’s capital to show support to her boyfriend. After all, she was there for all the big moments of Kelce and the Chiefs throughout the 2023 season–even flying from Japan after her Eras Tour concert there to watch Super Bowl 58.
he anticipation only heightened when White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged the hope of many for Swift to visit alongside Kelce and the Chiefs.

“I think the Swifties behind these double doors are hoping that Taylor Swift makes an appearance. I can’t speak to her schedule, but I know there’s a lot of interest in this building and on campus,” Jean-Pierre shared, per USA Today.
Taylor Swift, as mentioned, wasn’t able to join Travis Kelce in the White House. But that’s because she has a busy schedule with her Eras Tour concert in Europe. As CNN noted, Swift had a show in Madrid last Thursday and is traveling to Lyon, France this weekend.
There’s just no time in her schedule to make the trip back to the US. Not to mention how physically draining attempting such thing would be for her, especially as she prepares for her performance.
Sure enough, Kelce understands that. However, some fans couldn’t help but still wonder where Swift was during the event, with a fan heard shouting at the Chiefs TE during the visit to ask where the superstar musician was.

Maybe Swift can make it next time should Kelce and the Chiefs win the three-peat this 2024 season.
