Using your pre-game outfit to make a statement, and then losing, is about as embarrassing as it gets in sports. File this massive L away with the Texans getting blown out in their letter jackets, or the New York Knicks wearing all black for their opponent’s funeral (twice) only to lose (twice).
So what is this shit? Am I missing something? Not only is Angel Reese showing up for the game looking like it’s 2002, but she’s playing in Chicago while wearing the jersey from a time when the Bad Boy Pistons and Bulls HATED each other. If the message Reese is trying to get across is she’s rebounding like Rodman, does Reese know Rodman played for the city she plays for? Are you brain dead? This is like Anthony Richardson showing up in Indianapolis for game day wearing a Peyton Manning Broncos jersey to show he is a great passer. Richardson would get boo’ed out of the stadium. Rodman led the league in rebounding for 7 straight seasons … 2 with Detroit, 2 with San Antonio, 3 with the Bulls. He had more great rebounding seasons with Chicago than the Pistons.
The 80’s Bad Boy Pistons are still to this day the NBA’s biggest villains, so if the message Reese is trying to get across with her pre-game outfit is she is the villain – act like it. Quit talking shit, getting jealous of Clark’s attention, taking cheap shots, and praising your scumbag teammate for going after CC only to turn around and play victim and not want to talk about it in press conferences and wonder why people are criticizing your actions.
