‘Bold’ Jason Kelce hits back at people calling him ‘hypocritical’ for his strong views on Harrison Butker’s speech

Jason Kelce clarified that opposing the traditional gender roles doesn’t mean he was downplaying homemakers.

Jason Kelce has never been the one to hold out from speaking his mind. So when he heard the controversial speech of NFL star kicker Harrison Butker, he expressed his displeasure over it and dismissed the patriarchal gender roles for women. However, it appears the Philadelphia Eagles’ legendary center’s strong views didn’t sit well with some fans.

One fan openly called out Kelce on X for being “hypocritical” for not supporting Butker’s views, when his wife, Kylie is also a homemaker. As the comment was about his wife, Kelce didn’t let it pass but in fact, responded with a lengthy tweet by reposting the fan’s post and to everyone who questioned the nature of his marital relationship.

I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can.

Kelce stated that the reason he is responding is because there have been a lot of people raising questions about his household setting. He claimed, he and Kylie are equals in their marriage as both provide for the family and support each other.

Moreover, the future Hall of Famer clarified that opposing the traditional gender roles doesn’t mean he was downplaying homemakers, adding if that’s what some people want, then they should definitely go for it.

Jason Kelce challenges Chiefs Kicker’s views on his podcast

Kelce asserted his strong views on the Kansas City Chiefs kicker’s conservative speech during his commencement speech during a recent episode of his podcast, the New Heights. He shared that his wife was really frustrated after listening to the speech. But then he jokingly told his wife to go in the kitchen and make him a sandwich which received huge backlash on the internet.

Kelce further claimed he opposes the majority of Butker’s views but admitted there is some part of him that does resonate with the kicker’s views as he appreciated the three-time Super Bowl champion’s views on the importance of family as well as the importance of a great mother.

When you’re listening to somebody you take in things that you like [and] you listen to other things and say, ‘I don’t f**king like that.'

Kelce did acknowledge that the traditional gender roles shouldn’t be imposed on women, as embracing parenthood is equally important for fathers.
