The Cleveland Browns, along with many other NFL teams, opened the 2024 season on Sunday, and they didn’t quite do it in spectacular fashion. Quarterback Deshaun Watson threw two interceptions in the 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Watson has been a sore subject to Browns fans ever since they acquired him in 2022 in a trade where they sent tons of picks, only to have him sit out the first 11 games. Furthermore, in his games, Watson looks less like a steller.
Watson was suspended for the first 11 games of the 2022 season due to the many misconduct allegations against him and lawsuits brought on by these allegations, but they are apparently not done yet.
Watson is reported to have been sued by another person for sexual assault and battery, and at this point, fans are coming up with some insane theories. The most insane of them claims that the Browns are setting him up themselves after a tweet explaining the situation went viral.
Wow: Quote from @ProFootballTalk on the new sexual assault case against #Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson:

One NFL fan quote tweeted theorizing that the team may have pulled a fast one on the $250 million quarterback. “Did the Browns just hire a sexual assault case to get rid of Deshaun Watson,” he reasonably asked.

Other NFL fans didn’t even ask, pointing to Watson’s stat line since joining the team in 2022, claiming that they just dug up more dirt on the guy to send him out of town and get rid of his contract.
They def got someone to make an accusation to void it 💀

The browns definitely paid some chick to come out with this so they could get out of paying him lol

Even though Watson may be getting sued by someone, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But the question remains: if crazier things have happened, could it be true that the Browns did this?
