Jaguars To Rename Stadium After Trevor Lawrence For Home Opener vs Browns

Trevor Lawrence’s monster contract extension that is worth $275 million with the Jacksonville Jaguars is coming with some additional benefits, according to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco.

The Jags are changing the name of its stadium from EverBank Stadium to TrEverbank Stadium to celebrate its starting quarterback for Sunday’s home-opener against the Cleveland Browns.

“I don’t like having too much of the spotlight with stuff like that, but I think it was clever,” Lawrence said. “They have the naming rights for the stadium, so it’s a good play on words, and I was fine with it.”

In addition to his name sounding similar to the financial services company, Lawrence became a brand ambassador for EverBank in August.

Lawrence is in his fourth season with Jacksonville, which selected him first overall in the 2021 NFL draft. He’s already fourth in Jaguars history in passing yards (11,932) and touchdown passes (59).
