Clearview Local Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week due to threats. The closure, which includes all extracurricular activities, games, and practices, comes after Clearview High School in Lorain received multiple threats against the school’s safety.
Earlier this week, a threatening message was posted on social media claiming a bomb was going to be placed on the Clearview High campus. This led to the closure of Clearview High and Durling Middle schools on Sept. 10.
Since then, the original threat has reportedly been reposted with an additional message stating, “all got the wrong person.” In addition, an email was sent stating, “Clearview High School has now been targeted and is on the list.
A student on campus will be shooting up the school building as soon as the bell rings. I will make this destruction history as the top school slaughter.”
Law enforcement is actively investigating all threats. Lorain County Juvenile Court judges have stated that these threats will be taken seriously. Parents are urged to have conversations with their children about the seriousness of making or sharing threats.
