Travis Kelce has admitted he feels ‘like an amateur’ on the set of his first major acting role but insists he’s ‘coachable’ as he looks to break through in Hollywood.
The three-time Super Bowl winner is continuing to grow his brand away from the field with the Kansas City Chiefs and landed his first major acting role last month.
Kelce joined the cast of ‘Grotesquerie’ on FX. The series is a horror drama from Ryan Murphy, but it does not fall under the ‘American Horror Story’ umbrella.
As well as the new show, Kelce has also been filming a stint as host of gameshow ‘Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?’ for Prime Video this offseason.
But he told ‘Good Morning America’ on Thursday morning that he’s loving the challenge of being in front of the camera and is fully embracing it.

Asked if he is now an actor, Kelce replied, ‘I guess you could say that. Yeah.
‘I’ve been on a few shows before… I’ve only played myself in those shows, though.
‘So it’s definitely different portraying a character and trying to find the emotions in everything, and the understanding of a script and the scene. But it’s a challenge.’
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend revealed he’s been ‘taking pointers’ from his fellow cast members and ‘keeping an open ear’ for any advice.
‘I feel like an amateur right now, but it’s definitely a fun challenge, and I’m enjoying every bit of it, for sure… I’m coachable,’ he continued.
‘That’s one thing I know from being in sports, I am a coachable guy.
‘It’s just been awesome… Everybody involved in terms of the actors and the directors and the writers have just helped me out so much, understanding what I’m supposed to be doing. And I’m just havin’ fun with it.’
Kelce, who also hosted an episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’ last year, recently opened up to his brother Jason about his foray into acting on their hit ‘New Heights’ podcast.

He said: ‘It’s been so much fun. I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t gotten fired yet,’ he went on.
‘They haven’t told me to f***ing kick rocks after the first week.’
The tight end said he didn’t want to ‘give away too much’ about the plot but described the series as ‘quite a mystery.’
‘Everybody’s just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable and giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part,’ he continued.
‘I’m just taking it scene-by-scene and making sure I remember my lines … I’m very amateur at this.’
The three-time Super Bowl, who previously gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his time on set with Niecy Nash-Betts, said he’s ‘blown away’ that Murphy gave him such a ‘big role.’
‘He seemed very confident that I’d be able to do this and he injected that [belief] in me the first conversation we had,’ the athlete explained.
‘I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity. I’m sure there’s actors out there that would die for an opportunity to work with Ryan, and I’m getting it in my first gig ever … hopefully I don’t f**k it up,’ he added, as his voice trailed off.
