Stephen A. Smith forced into embarrassing U-turn by NFL teams perfect start

After Stephen A. Smith predicted his favorite team to be one of the NFL’s worst this season, they are one of the five left in football that are undefeated.

Smith revealed his embarrassing change of heart during a ‘First Take’ segment on Wednesday where he listed his top five NFL teams thus far this season.

In an unsurprising turn, Smith chose the teams that are without a blemish thus far in the 2024 campaign as his top five.

The team Smith had his change of opinion about is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who he placed at No 5 on his top NFL teams list.

‘What are my Pittsburgh Steelers doing? Have y’all seen what the Pittsburgh Steelers are doing? Do you see that defense? You see that brother T.J. Watt? He is so special,’ Smith said on Wednesday.

A month ago, his opinion of the Steelers sounded a lot different.

‘The Steelers looked awful offensively. They looked absolutely awful. I’m very, very disgusted by what I saw,’ Smith said in August.

‘Here’s what really resonates with me. I’m thinking about the fact that you took those three sacks, (Russell Wilson is) still holding onto the ball a little too long. Because that’s why Sean Payton couldn’t stand him. That’s why Sean Payton ran him out of Denver.’

‘That’s why Denver didn’t hesitate to push him out of the Mile High City, even though they owe him $37.8million. You’ve got some weapons but in the end it’s going to come down to your quarterback play and what kind of a threat he is.’

‘But I’m looking at Russell Wilson and thinking “Damn, this is why the Denver Broncos didn’t want him”. I don’t want to hear anything about the calf injury. You’re still holding onto the ball for too long. I’m not enthused.’

Wilson has not played in the regular season, with Justin Fields taking the starting role and excelling with his new team.
