The Philadelphia Eagles are chasing another Super Bowl. And, given the season they’ve had, anything less would be considered a failure, though Jalen Hurts’ shoulder issues could come into play.
While they wait to play the New York Giants, having enjoyed a bye week to start the playoffs, they’ve had to deal with accusations of cheating on extra points field goals. Of course, they’ve denied this, but video evidence has since surfaced online and appears to lend weight to the cheating claims.
Suspicions arose after the Eagles beat the Giants in Week 14, prompting the NFL to implement a crackdown, asking match officials to be on the lookout for “foreign objects” being used to assist kickers on the field.

Elliot addressed the matter this week and did not deny something was used during the kicking sequence. However, he denied it was foreign.
“We’ve always used something that’s within the rules,” he said, per NJ.com. “It’s just literally to mark the spot. It’s part of the playing surface, like a piece of grass or something like that.”
He also revealed that the league contacted them about the possibility of foreign objects being used.
“When we talked to them, we explained what we’re doing, and they saw what we were doing,” he added. “Probably 30 teams do it around the league. It’s just a point of emphasis, and someone makes it bigger than it is. Everything we’ve done has been completely legal.”
