Additional details have surfaced following the arrest of New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers.
The Pats team captain was taken into police custody after officers received a report detailing an altercation at his Braintree, Massachusetts, residence on Saturday. The authorities disclosed having made the arrest on Monday, with the player said to be facing charges of strangulation and possession of a class B drug believed to be cocaine, among others.
TMZ has since reported that the alleged victim is Peppers’ girlfriend, who claims they were having intercourse around 4:00 AM when she got a phone call that triggered him.
The outlet reports that: “Authorities say she stated he demanded she leave his apartment — and pushed her out of the bedroom while they were both naked. Moments later, she claimed he “put his hands on her neck and pushed her head against the wall.” The whole time, she said he appeared “out of his mind and had a serious expression.”
“According to the docs, the woman stated the violence continued following the initial outburst … when Peppers pushed her down a set of stairs.”

Officers noted that the woman had scratches on her kneecaps when they arrived, while her forehead was red.
Peppers was arrested for assault and battery. A clear plastic bag with white powder was found in his wallet, which officers claim he told them was cocaine.
Jabrill Peppers Has Denied All Of The Allegations
Peppers has denied wrongdoing, per documents obtained by TMZ.
The safety is said to have told the police the woman became angry when he refused to have unprotected sex with her and has accused him of the above in an attempt to ruin his career.
“According to Jabrill, [the woman] kept acting erratic and refused to leave,” authorities said. According to Jabrill, [the woman] fell by herself on the stairs because she was intoxicated. He denied pushing her down the stairs, and he said that she was making those allegations to destroy his career.”
Peppers appeared in court on Monday, after which his attorney claimed they had video evidence to prove the 29-year-old did nothing wrong.

“We have evidence that completely contradicts the alleged victim’s story, and I expect my client to be fully exonerated,” the lawyer told reporters.
Peppers, who is nursing a shoulder injury, did not play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for obvious reasons. His status is now unknown in light of this new development.
