Dre Greenlaw is likely to catch a massive fine and possibly a suspension over his behavior on Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers star linebacker Dre Greenlaw hasn’t played in a game yet in 2024 as he continues to recover from his Achilles tear, but he likely just cost himself a substantial amount of money.
In the third quarter of the 49ers’ eventual 24-23 loss to the Cardinals, Greenlaw was caught on the sidelines shoving Arizona tight end Trey McBride as an on-field blocking battle between McBride and Niner cornerback Charvarius Ward spilled onto the sideline.
Wild: Dre Greenlaw who wasn’t even playing yesterday or in uniform shoved McBride while he was out of bounds.
A massive fine is incoming.

Another view showed that Dre Greenlaw actually shoved him into the water cooler and knocked it over.

Once the league office views the video, a fine should be assessed later this week.
The 49ers Could Badly Use Linebacker Dre Greenlaw On The Field
In August, the 49ers placed linebacker Dre Greenlaw on reserve/PUP, which meant he would miss four games before becoming eligible to return to the active roster.
Greenlaw, who tore his Achilles while preparing to run onto the field in the middle of the Super Bowl in February, looks ready to go after he was caught shoving Arizona tight end Trey McBride on Sunday.
The 49ers desperately need their leader on the field to stop the bleeding, which has them under .500 and in third place in the NFC West.
Dre Greenlaw recorded 120 tackles during the 2023 regular season, which also included 1.5 sacks and 4 pass breakups.
Among the things he provides is his presence as he was named the recipient of the 2024 Dwight Clark Award, which is given to a player who best exemplifies the late 49ers tight end’s spirit of teamwork and camaraderie.
