Diddy revealed in a resurfaced interview that he has been “documenting everything” in his life since 1992.
Music video director Cole Bennett shared this insight during a 2022 podcast, recalling the advice Diddy gave him about the importance of always having a camera on hand. Bennett, who has worked with top artists like Eminem, Kanye West, and J. Cole, recounted his experience after being invited to Diddy’s house for dinner. Though the two haven’t collaborated professionally, Diddy seemed keen to pass on some wisdom.
Speaking on the Full Send podcast, Bennett recalled the advice as “wonderful.” He explained: “Diddy invited me over for dinner a couple of months ago, he told me, he gave me a piece of advice. He said, because everything was recorded, there’s a camera at all times. He’s like, ‘I’ve been documenting everything in my life since 1992… I have footage of everything. Make sure you bring a camera everywhere, it’s important.’”
Bennett added that Diddy stressed the value of recording his life so he could reflect on those moments “fondly.”
This insight comes as Diddy—whose real name is Sean Combs—faces serious legal charges, including sex trafficking, drug possession, and firearms offenses. According to an indictment, the rapper is accused of encouraging women into sexual acts with male sex workers during events known as “freak offs.” These “elaborate and produced sex performances” were allegedly “arranged, directed, and masturbated during” by Diddy and were “often electronically recorded.”
More than 100 individuals have come forward with sexual assault allegations against Diddy, many filing lawsuits this week. Houston-based lawyer Tony Buzbee is representing the accusers, both men and women, from 25 different states. Some of these cases reportedly date back to 1991, with allegations involving minors at the time.
Diddy has denied all charges. His attorney, Erica Wolff, said; “As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.” She added, “That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.”
Diddy remains in custody after being denied bail twice, and a trial date has not yet been set. Wolff emphasized that Diddy is eager to prove his innocence in court, where “the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
