The Alabama Crimson Tide’s euphoria from their victory over Georgia was short-lived. A stunning upset loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday sent shockwaves through the college football world and knocked Alabama from their No. 1 ranking.
Despite entering the game as heavy favorites, the Tide fell to the Commodores 40-35, allowing Vanderbilt to secure a 3-2 record on the season. Adding to the disappointment, defensive lineman Jeheim Oatis is reportedly planning to redshirt and enter the transfer portal, signaling potential further upheaval for the program.

Highly-touted Alabama defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis is reportedly unhappy with his playing time and plans to enter the transfer portal. A former top-40 recruit, Oatis started 13 games across his freshman and sophomore seasons.
This year, however, he only saw the field for 25 total snaps during the Crimson Tide’s first two games, against Georgia and Wisconsin. He intends to redshirt this season before transferring.

Despite a promising start to his college career, including 13 starts over two seasons, former four-star recruit Oatis is utilizing the redshirt rule, having appeared in just four games this season. This news comes as Alabama tumbles to No. 7 in the AP poll after a weekend of shocking upsets.
